He joins a collective of more than 2,000 &#8220;leading life scientists in Europe&#8221; which include amongst them 92 Nobel Laureates. The research of the <a href=\"https:\/\/chromosome.ie\/gae\/groups\/frank\/\" class=\"ek-link\">Gr\u00fapa Frank<\/a>, which has focused on cell fate and identity in the context of evolutionary development, has been recognised in his membership election to meet the EMBO mission statement of &#8220;excellence in the life sciences&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify\">Prof Frank is the third member of the CCB to gain EMBO membership alongside Prof Noel Lowndes (Director) and Prof Brian McStay of the <a href=\"https:\/\/chromosome.ie\/gae\/groups\/lowndes\/\" class=\"ek-link\">Gr\u00fapa Lowndes<\/a> agus <a href=\"https:\/\/chromosome.ie\/gae\/groups\/mcstay\/\" class=\"ek-link\">Gr\u00fapa McStay<\/a> respectively. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We congratulare Prof Frank on this achievement and echo the sentiments of the EMBO Director:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote has-small-font-size is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cThe new EMBO Members and Associate Members have made immense contributions to fundamental life science research, and, in many cases, their work has paved the way for innovations that have improved lives and livelihoods around the world. As EMBO marks its 60<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0anniversary, we celebrate the pivotal roles played by the EMBO Membership in strengthening international life science research and contributing to the EMBO Programmes and activities.
